Overview
Text Styles™ is an all-purpose Google Docs™ markdown add-on that allows you to create your own custom style markdowns and save them for later use. For example, you could create a style called “Code” with the font set to “Consolas”, the highlight color set to “#efefef” (which is light gray), and use the less-than character “<” as your starting marker and the greater-than character ">” as your ending marker. You can also optionally have the program delete the markers after running. Then you just write your notes like normal, except you can talk about how to print stuff in Python like <print(“Hello World”)> or in Java like <System.out.println(“Hello World”)> which are quite different. When you’re finished writing, simply pull up Text Styles™ and hit Apply Style. Your text will be automatically styled to your specifications. One of the best parts about this add-on is that it's so customizable. The only limit is your imagination!

This is exactly what I've been needing. You're literally my hero. I couldn't find anything that worked for creating extra styles that wasn't behind a disgusting paywall, and this is honestly more versatile than any of those. The visual UI is far more polished than I expected, too. It's already super useful, but I wanna make a few suggestions as a former software UI designer if you were ever interested in improving this. No matter what, you have the start of a real hit on your hands, and my eternal gratitude for sharing it publicly. --> Add an "Apply" button next to the "Edit" button on the full list of styles page, so users don't have to go into the config pages to apply every time --> Even further, add an "Apply All" button to the list page, so you can activate them all at once --> Make the highlight box optional, or give the ability to make it transparent. (Setting the highlight to the same color as the doc is fine visually, but is annoying when I want to copy-paste to somewhere else.) --> [bigger functionality lift] Add ability to create a new style from selected text, so users don't have to manually input each config every time Sorry for talking about improvement suggestions in my review. I promise, I love this add-on and the suggestions are really just for extra icing on the cake. This extension has already saved me hours of tedious work, and I've only had it for a day. I'm just so excited because this has potential to be THE solution to gdoc's annoying limited styles problem.

This extension is a hidden gem! I'm using it to write my notes for coding classes. I wish I'd had the idea to use different styles for different things within my notes sooner! This is making the manual process I was doing at times so much faster already. Thank you!
