If you're good with spreadsheets and want flexibility in how you manage your finances there is no better option than Tiller. Having all of my account data in google sheets leaves me in control of how I track and organize my money, no longer locked into the pre-determined systems offered by services like Mint.

I had been a M!n+ user for YEARS and was never fully satisfied with the feature set, the lack of flexibility and control I'd prefer from a spreadsheet, not to mention the lackluster UI controls that never changed for a full decade. So imagine my supreme joy when I, a lover of spreadsheets, finally discovered Tiller just over a year ago. Now that I'm a full year into using Tiller, I'm more than happy to 5-star this puppy. With a few caveats... There is a bit of a "power user" element to Tiller. If you don't come into it without at least "strong beginner to intermediate" skill level with spreadsheets, you might find things frustrating. With the great flexibility of spreadsheets comes the "let's shoehorn some non-spreadsheet stuff into this thing" through the plug-in. But there's no way around that and I think Tiller's done about as good a job as you can do given those circumstances. Conceptually, it does take some mental work to figure out how things on the various sheets fit together and it's sometimes easy (for me anyway) to forget that, for instance, setting the month-to-month budget numbers for various things happens in the sheet called "Categories." But I've also never broken the spreadsheet, so they've done a good job of keeping things hooked together correctly across sheets. A few positives: The Community for Tiller is incredible and the company should be commended on cultivating that. I think I only use one community-generated spreadsheet but it's a really helpful one for me and there are scores more out there for the taking. Finally, $80 for an entire year of amazing control over your finances is NOTHING. If you don't like paying for software, you must like ads assaulting your eyeballs while you try to do real work. I don't, so I'd much rather pay the good people at an amazing software company directly for the excellent work they've done. I'd happily shell out more per year for it (within reason 🙃)

So glad I found Tiller! I've used so many financial applications over the years - dating back MS Money. I love the flexibility and control Tiller allows and how it makes available so many resources. I am not a sophisticated spreadsheet person - but am learning with Tiller's helpful materials. Their customer service has been wonderful - very personal and available. Looking forward to using Tiller for years to come!

I have worked with several account aggregators in the past, and I always found their budgeting tools didn't quite fit my needs, so I always ended up using them just to download my transactions so I could use my own spreadsheets for budgeting. Tiller is the FIRST one that actually provides useful, customizable spreadsheets (that you can maintain yourself) for budgeting and tracking, and incorporates automatic transaction downloading into the sheets themselves. It's a refreshing approach that works very well!

I've been looking for a replacement for Quicken for years, and I've finally found it. Tiller beats Quicken hands-down, and allows me to customize my data my way. Plus, it has never "magically" corrupted or closed my accounts, or just randomly stopped working, the way Quicken always did. I highly recommend Tiller, whether you're a hard-core spreadsheet DIY'er or just getting started looking for a way to organize your finances. You won't regret it.

Prior to Tiller, I used Mint, and I love the flexibility of Tiller far more. I appreciate the daily emails and while I wish they had a mobile app, using google sheets on my device is fine. My favorite part is the way I can make my own categories and groups. I don't have to keep "mandatory" categories that I don't use. Also, having no ads is a major plus. I highly recommend this to anyone who doesn't like the box Mint puts you in.

Does what I need for tracking income and expenses. Links in all of my banking transactions. I used Quicken for years but the financial links started to get buggy so I needed to find a replacement product. I tried other apps but Tiller has hit my sweet spot.

Absolutely, if not the best, one of the best financial software packages available. And it is customizable for your own needs. Thank you to all who contribute to this effort.

Tiller is the best tool I've found to track our finances. I've used Mint and Personal Capital for years but I found their Categorization tools to be lacking basic features. Tiller's categorization tool are the best I've seen. It allows me to consistently categorize transactions based on any part of the description downloaded from the bank. e.g. If the Description contains certain words or phrases, categorize it as "x". Neither Mint nor Personal Capital can do this. Since it's based on either Google Sheets or MS Excel, even a basic knowledge of Pivot tables makes it easy to create almost any report. And, I can't say enough good things about their Customer Support. I've never seen such proactive and cooperative support. Their Customer Forum is a good source of info. Members are generous with their help and suggestions. Some reviewers don't seem to like the spreadsheet interface but I consider this a major selling point for me and people like me that have a basic understanding of spreadsheets. It allows me to add columns that I can use to help manage rental properties and create various custom views of our transactions.

Tiller is a fabulous way to use analytics to track your finance. I am a happy customer of 1 year. I wish that I did not have to revalidate some account permissions, but that is my only complaint.
