This editor add-on rewrites the presentation you have open in another language, in place: titles, body text, tables, grouped shapes and, if you want them, speaker notes. It works on the file you are in and nothing else — the permission it asks for cannot reach anything else in your Drive. 100+ languages, both directions: send an English deck out in Spanish, or read an incoming Japanese one in English. Built for the Google Slides™ editor. 🔧 NOTHING TO SET UP No API key. No account to create. No model to choose. One AI engine runs on our own OpenRouter account, so installing it is the entire setup. Open a deck, pick a target, press the button. 🎯 QUALITY FIRST Machine output usually reads like machine output. Every request carries a professional translator's QA checklist, so the wording is reviewed before a single word is written back: 1. Accuracy — the meaning of the source, not a word swap. 2. Fluency — sentences a native speaker would actually say. 3. Consistent terminology — one term per concept, start to finish. 4. Idiomatic style rather than literal calques. 5. Locale conventions for dates, currencies and measurements. The model is instructed not to add, drop or invent content. 🎨 FORMATTING KEPT Bold, italic, underline, colors, fonts, sizes and links come through, including per-word styling inside a single text box. Very heavily styled boxes are handled as plain text and keep the box's overall look, so the result stays readable instead of arriving broken. 📐 BUILT TO PROTECT YOUR LAYOUT The model is told to stay as close to the source length as it can. That is what stops boxes and diagrams from bursting when a short English label turns into a long German one. ✂️ SET THE SCOPE ▸ The whole deck in one pass. ▸ The current slide only. ▸ A selected frame, or just the words you highlighted. ▸ Speaker notes — one checkbox, on or off. ▸ Your own prompt for tone and terminology: formal register, product names left in English. 🔒 PRIVATE BY DESIGN No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. • Four permissions, and that is the list: the presentation you are working in, the sidebar, one outbound HTTPS connection, and your Google account email address, which tells the add-on which plan you are on. • Your text travels over HTTPS to exactly one external service, OpenRouter, which routes it to the model. The answer is written straight back into the file. We keep no copy of it. • OpenRouter has its own privacy policy and retention practices. Please read them before you run confidential material through any tool, this one included. • If you subscribe, we send your email address — your Google account email, or the checkout email you type — to Paddle, only to confirm that your subscription is active. • The choices you make in the sidebar are saved so you need not set them again. "Erase my data" in the footer deletes them. ▶️ HOW TO USE 1️⃣ Open the deck you want rewritten. 2️⃣ Start the sidebar from the menu bar: Extensions → Translate Slides with AI → 🌐 Open translator 3️⃣ Pick the target language and the scope, tick speaker notes if you need them, and run it. 💳 FREE AND PREMIUM ➤ Free: a 100-slide allowance each calendar month. The counter resets on the 1st. No card. ➤ Premium: $9.99 a month billed annually — $119.88 a year — or $14.99 on a rolling monthly plan. The allowance rises to 10,000, a fair-use ceiling. ➤ Paddle is the Merchant of Record for both plans. ❓ QUESTIONS WE GET Does the editor do this on its own? Not natively. Docs has a built-in translation tool, the presentation editor does not, and that gap is why this add-on exists. Do I need a browser extension too? No. This is a Workspace add-on, so it opens in a sidebar inside the editor itself. A colleague sent me a .pptx from PowerPoint. Will that work? Import it into Drive first, and from then on it behaves like any other presentation. Does it keep my original? No — the rewrite happens in the file itself. Duplicate it first; see the tip below. Is text inside images handled? No. Pictures, logos and chart images are left untouched. Can I translate one deck into several languages? Yes. Make a copy for each target and run the copies one after another. What happens when I reach the free limit? Nothing breaks. The counter simply opens again on the 1st, and Premium lifts it sooner. 💡 Tip: File → Make a copy before a large job, then run it on the copy. You keep the original intact and get a clean side-by-side for review.
