What are the usage limits?
Travel Formulas operates within Google's daily quotas for all add-ons and apps. These quotas allow 1,000-10,000 direction requests per day (depending on your Google account type) and standard run-time limits. The limits are the same for free trial and paid versions. High-volume users can purchase additional daily direction requests to access our paid API formulas that exceed Google's standard quotas. You can minimize recalculations by setting your spreadsheet to "On change" calculation mode (File > Settings > Calculation tab) and pasting formula results as values when final.

Does Travel Formulas work with Place Chips?
Yes! Any address that Google Maps™ recognizes works in Travel Formulas, including Place Chips. The chip's formatting does not impact address validity.

What location formats are supported?
If Google Maps™ can interpret the location, it works in Travel Formulas:
• Street addresses
• Latitude/Longitude coordinates (will snap to nearest road)
• Plus Codes
• City/Country/Political boundaries
• Points of interest (restaurants, hotels, landmarks)
• Airports
• Parks and public spaces

How do I convert time output to a number for calculations?
TRAVELTIME returns text-formatted output. To use the result in other formulas, wrap it with the VALUE() function: =VALUE(TRAVELTIME(A2, B2))

What if I get a #NAME? error?
Cause 1: Google Sheets™ doesn't recognize the custom formula. Go to Extensions > Travel Formulas > Activate / Refresh License. You only need to do this once per Google account — it covers every sheet you own, not just the one you are in — and since the August 2026 update it happens automatically when you install.
Cause 2: You're using a spreadsheet created by another user who has Travel Formulas, but you haven't installed it yourself. Install the add-on or have the owner paste formula results as values.

Can I share spreadsheets with Travel Formulas?
Yes! Spreadsheets work best when you're the owner. If sharing with others who don't have Travel Formulas installed, paste formula results as values before sharing, or have them install the add-on themselves.

How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Extensions > Travel Formulas > Manage Subscription / Cancel in any Google Sheet™, or go straight to the subscriber portal below. Sign in with the same email address you subscribed with — Stripe sends a one-time sign-in link, there is no password. From the portal you can update your card, switch between monthly and annual, download invoices, or cancel. Cancelling stops future charges; the add-on keeps working until the end of the period you've already paid for.
