Paste a few paragraphs out of a PDF, an e-mail or a transcript into Google Docs™ and every line arrives on its own. The text looks like a poem. Fixing it by hand means putting the cursor at the end of hundreds of lines and pressing Delete. WHERE TO FIND IT AFTER INSTALLING Unbreak opens in the SIDE PANEL on the right of your document, not in the Extensions menu. Look for its icon in the narrow strip down the right edge; if that strip is hidden, click the small arrow at the bottom-right corner to show it. Unbreak does it in one press — and it knows where your paragraphs really end. IT KEEPS THE PARAGRAPHS YOU ACTUALLY HAVE This is the whole point. A line that finishes a sentence, a heading, a list item or an empty line is left exactly where it is; only the lines broken in the middle of a sentence are rejoined. The tools that came before removed line breaks and paragraph breaks alike, which is why people had to fix one paragraph at a time. IT IS CAREFUL RATHER THAN CLEVER When two lines are ambiguous, Unbreak leaves them alone. Joining two real sentences by mistake damages your document; leaving one break in place costs you a single Backspace. The expensive mistake only goes one way, so the rule is: when in doubt, do not join. IT NEVER CHANGES A WORD Only the breaks between your words move. Nothing is rewritten, summarised, translated or corrected. IT READS ONLY THIS FILE The permission Unbreak asks for is limited by Google to the one document you open it in. It cannot reach your other files, your Google Drive™ or your mail. Nothing from your file is ever sent anywhere: there is no database and no analytics. Without a licence key the add-on makes no network request at all; with a Pro licence it asks our licence server once a day whether that key is still active, sending only the key and a random identifier for the installation. FREE, FOREVER • Rejoin broken lines — on the text you selected, or the whole document • Real paragraphs, headings, list items and empty lines left exactly where they are • Hyphenated words put back together when a PDF split them across two lines • Collapse double spaces • Delete empty paragraphs • See what will change, before anything changes • One Undo that puts every break back PRO — $29 a year or $69 once, per user • Remove every hyperlink at once — including inside bulleted and numbered lists • Split text back into lines at a separator you choose • Every Unbreak feature we add next, on the same key The preview, the Undo and the rule that your words are never changed are free on purpose and stay free. They are the reason to trust the tool at all, and we do not charge for them. One licence per add-on: this key unlocks Pro in Unbreak, on up to three Google accounts. A team licence covers every add-on we publish, for a whole organisation. Google Docs™, Google Drive™ and Google Apps Script™ are trademarks of Google LLC.
