2️⃣ How is this add on different from other tools that do the same? Why should I choose Unsubscribe for Gmail™?

There was no tool that worked seamlessly and intuitively, doesn't sell data and doesn't compromise on security.

- Security
1. Other add ons require IMAP (full) access to your inbox. This is relatively dangerous, compared to the way how we get access to user data. We make use of OAuth2, which relies on temporary access to only certain parts of the google user account. IMAP gives full access to the inbox and also requires to store an app password that may remain valid for a very long time. 
2. We do not store any unnecessary email data, only the essential information needed to unsubscribe.
3. We have passed a security review before this add on could be published. 

- Privacy
1. We will not sell or share any of your data to third parties. This is due to a strong personal conviction that online privacy is a fundamental human right. Regardless, if we ever were to become corrupted; EU GDPR regulations could have very strong repercussions for us, as we are based in The Netherlands. This is also why unroll[dot]me is not available in Europe. 
2. We do not store the content of any emails! Only metadata, such as the message ID and methods to unsubscribe from a newsletter.

- Integration
1. We integrate deeply with Gmail™'s API's infrastructure in a very secure way. That means no technical setup needed.
2. You don't need to setup IMAP manually.
3. You don't need to leave Gmail™ if you receive a new newsletter. Just open our add on, unsubscribe / block / trash and continue. 

3️⃣ What are the alternatives?

We built another add on that works differently. You can find our other add on, called "Clean Inbox for Gmail™" on the Google Workspace Marketplace, or via cleaninboxforgmail.com. This add on works by creating filters to filter out emails based on phrases that typically occur in marketing emails.

4️⃣ So Clean Inbox for Gmail™ is a substitute for Unsubscribe for Gmail? Pick one?
We would rather say that they are complementary! 

Clean Inbox for Gmail™ focuses on new incoming emails, by creating Gmail™ filters on your inbox. We like to think of if this way: Clean Inbox for Gmail™ looks into the future and shields your inbox from new incoming mails. 

Unsubscribe for Gmail™ looks into the past and goes through your inbox and unsubscribes from the mailing lists that you select. You can also choose to delete and block more emails from these senders.

When used together, you can cancel all newsletters that you are already subscribed to, and you prevent new unknown ones in the future from reaching your inbox.
