Google Docs™' built-in word count only looks at the tab you're currently on. If your document has multiple tabs — or nested child tabs — the number you see is incomplete.

Word Count (All Tabs) fixes that. Open the sidebar and it automatically walks every tab in your Google Docs™ document, including tabs nested inside other tabs, and adds it all up.

- Total characters excluding spaces

HOW IT WORKS
Open any Google Docs™ document, go to Extensions → Word Count (All Tabs) → Open Word Count. The sidebar counts automatically. Hit Refresh Results any time after editing to recalculate.
