Overview
Google Sheets has UPPER(), LOWER() and PROPER(), but they build a second column you then have to copy back over the first. Change Case rewrites the cells you already have, in place, in one step.

FREE, AND STAYING FREE

• UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case and Sentence case, on exactly the cells you selected.
• Fast. It reads your whole selection in one operation and writes it back in one operation, so thousands of cells take about a second rather than several minutes.
• Numbers, dates and formulas are never touched. Only cells that contain text are changed, and the panel tells you how many cells it left alone.
• See a sample of the result before you apply it.
• Undo the last change with one click.
• Accented capitals come out right: ș becomes Ș, é becomes É, ü becomes Ü.

All of that is free, permanently — including the speed. Speed is how the tool is built, not an upgrade.

PRO — $29 per year, or $69 once

• Editorial Title Case, where small words stay small: "The Lord of the Rings", not "The Lord Of The Rings".
• tOGGLE cASE, for when caps lock was on.
• camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case and kebab-case, for column headers and identifiers.
• Tidy up stray spaces — trim the ends and collapse doubles.
• One licence, every tool. The same key unlocks Pro in every add-on we publish, including the ones that do not exist yet.

BUILT TO BE FAST

The add-on this replaces was well liked and then abandoned, and long before it broke, its reviews were already about one thing. In four languages, over nine years, people wrote that it was too slow — one of them said plainly that writing his own script was less trouble. That happens when a tool asks Google for every cell separately.

This one asks once. Your selection is read in a single operation, transformed in memory, and written back in a single operation. On a few thousand cells the difference is minutes versus about a second.

ONE PERMISSION, AND NOTHING LEAVES GOOGLE

Change Case asks for exactly one permission: access to the spreadsheet you currently have open. Not your other spreadsheets. Not your Drive. Nothing in Gmail, Calendar or your contacts.

It runs entirely inside Google Apps Script. There is no server of ours, no database, no analytics and no tracking. Nothing is transmitted to us, because there is nowhere for it to be transmitted to.

HOW TO USE IT

1. Install, then open any Google Sheet.
2. Select the cells you want to change.
3. Open Change Case from the side panel on the right.
4. Pick a case, check the preview, press Change. Changed your mind? Press Undo.
