Been using Zoho Books for just about 2 years now. I had initially started with Books and then moved over to Intuit Quickbooks Online which I wanted to give a try. Bad idea, Quickbooks seemed friendly at first but then my accounting got all messed up. I quickly moved back over to Zoho Books and will be staying. New features come every now and then which is nice, being able to tie into Zoho CRM and other apps is great. And if you ever need to contact Support, they are knowledgable and fast to respond!!

All in all this is a pretty good accounting software for a small business. It does just about everything we need it to do. We are able to pay contractors, other expenses and categorize them quite easily. We are able to receive payments using varying methods. The only thing we couldn't get to work right was the Forte integration. The support team is quick to respond, but seams like they read from a script and don't actually understand the issues. I will say that we have not had to use the support team very often which is nice. If you are a small business and are looking for an accounting software that works well this is it. They also have a CRM, subscriptions and a suite of other software that integrate pretty nicely. We use the CRM, Books, Subscriptions and Help Desk all through Zoho and we love it!

Our firm has been using Zoho books since it was up and running. It's been cost effective for several of our clients to implement, and they continue to add features that create better visualization and functionality. It was a little clunky in the beginning, but adding in payment integration is excellent. We use Stripe. Automated invoice reminders and timings is excellent. And with so many clients, being able to switch between companies with a single user ID, makes life extremely easy.

Update 1/22/2018: Although Zoho is great in many ways, I have spent dozens of hours working around minor usability issues in Zoho Books (see a few examples below). I switched to Zoho Books from a similar platform mainly to save time, so I am reducing my 5-star rating to 3. I did try contacting Zoho support about many of these issues, and the responses are usually along the lines of "sorry, we do not have that feature right now". Bugs get fixed quickly, but usability issues seem to be low priority for Zoho. Original 5-star review from March 2017: Zoho Books and Xero were the only invoicing services I found that had all the features I needed (import past invoices, online payment portal, recurring invoices, and invoice customization). After trying both of those, I decided that Zoho Books had much better customer support and was better suited for a small business. Zoho Books has saved me tons of time. Some of my favorite time savers are: * Customer statement makes it so easy to send customers an accounting summary of any time range. No more spreadsheet export! * Customer portal and payment options are simply fantastic. * Recurring invoices and automatic reminders save me time. Also, they have great customer support. When a new release resulted in a bug that prevented me from attaching a text file to an invoice, a support rep told me a workaround for it, and the bug was fixed within a few days. Of course, Zoho Books is far from perfect. The current version has some minor annoyances: * cannot set a global bcc email (must add it to a bunch of places), * no easy integration with mailing lists (to email all of your customers that purchase XYZ product), * and transaction matching is so painful I no longer bother to do it. But again, those are just annoyances and easy to work around. Zoho seems to be constantly releasing upgrades, and I would not be surprised if all of those issues get fixed soon.

We chose to pay for a subscription, but mostly because we are trusting them that they will add more in the future. I would advise most people to give it some time to mature before jumping in. On the positive side, the invoicing component is essentially an exact copy of Zoho Invoice, so if you are considering Zoho Invoice for anything above a $20 a month package this is worth a look. Still, I would have to suggest you look elsewhere for now and give this some time to steep. I would also like to see a more detailed feature roadmap and timeline to know when they plan to roll in new features. For now, I suggest looking to FreshBooks for invoicing & Quickbooks for bookkeeping even though it's a more expensive alternative unless you are not so concerned with creature comforts.

Zoho Books has provided us with the basic financial features you would come to expect from an accounting software (including great reporting features, bank and credit card feeds). Although, when you dig deeper, the ability to email customer invoices that can be paid online by the customer through a private customer portal, and the ability to setup recurring payments has been exceptional. All of the Zoho products we use have been great and they keep working very hard to improve their products everyday.

Update: 11/28/16 I'm still sold on ZohoBooks. It has worked really well and still does what I need. I recently moved my banking, accounts rec and invoicing to Books. I compared it at the time to QuikBooks, which was my accountant recommendation. I was already using invoicing and asked her to take a look at Zoho Books and let me know what she thought. She completely endorses it now. Documentation support for the software is stellar. When I'm still stuck Zoho Support has been very responsive whenever I need help. I recommend this software.

I have used Zoho Books in India for over two years now and me, my colleagues and customers love it. The customer service is unbelievable and the pricing here in India is extremely competitive. The Zoho Books app is even more useful. Zoho has now saved us salary of one staff to manage our accounts. Zoho Vault is the other product that we like from the Zoho stable.
