Physical body consists of working organs (hands, legs, mouth, urinating, excreting) and sensing organs (touch, taste, hearing, sight, smelling) and brain to gather, process and feedback the information to the mind . This information of liking or disliking is registered in the mind for discrimination. The sensing capability of mind depends on the input capacity of the respective organ, some of them may have higher sensitivity while the other optimal one. For example the sensing capability of eyes can be increased by optical lenses or cataract operation .Hearing can be set right by hearing aids. Actually a person’s main aim in life is to get a sense of satisfaction or fulfilment, both physical as well as mental wellbeing. One tries to avoid miseries and achieve happiness (‘Anand’){ Patanjali Yog Sutra }. Accordingly Ashtang Yoga, unbiased to any religion occurs in eight fold stages in the following two categories as (A) Outward: 1.Yam 2.Niyam 3.Pratyahar 4. Asan 5.Pranayam and (B) Inward: 6.Dharna 7.Dhyan 8.Samadhi Mainly the first five activities (A) are helpful in maintaining the health of the body and mind to lead a well disciplined life. Actually the mind is also considered further divided in to four energy levels, known as ‘Man Chatushthay’ namely ‘Man’, ‘Budhi’, ‘Chitt’, ‘Ahankar’. Thus the input sensual information is judged and discriminated by the intellect according to (‘Budhi’) intelligence. This information is further forwarded to subconscious mind ‘Chitt’ for comparison and ultimately decided to be retained or rejected by ego centred entity. Emotions also play major role to influence the final decision for action. Thus the thoughts play prominent role for actions executed by working organs (‘Karm Indriya’ ).
