AI continues to transform the landscape of work, fundamentally shifting how teams create, collaborate, and communicate. Our AI-powered video app — Google Vids — has made video creation accessible to teams of all sizes and skill levels, enabling them to produce compelling videos efficiently and at scale.
As we continue to make video creation even easier and more powerful for everyone, the response from Vids users has been overwhelmingly positive. We recently introduced the ability to generate eight-second video clips, powered by Veo 3, and now Vids has over 1 million monthly active users, highlighting the appetite for intuitive, AI-driven creative tools.
Today we’re bringing new features in Vids to general availability, expanding how you can create polished video content. And if you’re looking to get started using Vids, we’re introducing a new “Vids on Vids” instructional series, to demonstrate all the features this powerful app offers.
Create polished, engaging videos faster with AI-powered features
The introduction of video generation with sound in Veo 3 has ushered in an explosion of creativity. In a matter of minutes, teams can generate AI video clips that personalize client presentations or bring their industry or business to life. Now, with a new image-to-video capability powered by Veo, teams can transform their photos into dynamic eight-second video clips with sound. This means you can upload a product shot, or company stock photography, and use a text prompt to create animated video clips with native audio that are aligned with your brand. (Generally available today.)

Quickly creating custom videos to help tell your story has never been easier, but the overhead of recording yourself, or coordinating with a spokesperson, continues to be a barrier for many people and teams. At I/O, we announced AI avatars, to help teams streamline their video content, and clearly present information. Starting today, teams can simply write a script and select an avatar to deliver their message in Vids. It’s ideal for things like trainings, demos, onboarding, and more. (Generally available today.)

And for those times when you’re recording yourself, Vids can help you look and sound your best with fewer takes. You can now access automatic transcript trim, removing filler words and awkward pauses with just a few clicks, eliminating tedious editing. (Generally available today.) We’re also pre-announcing noise cancellation, as well as backgrounds, filters, and appearance options, just like you see in Google Meet. (Generally available next month.)

We know that an important part of scaling video is sharing it, which is why we’re also excited to pre-announce the addition of new sizing formats to Google Vids. Soon, teams will be able to create Vids in portrait, landscape, and square formats. (Generally available next quarter.)
Introducing our new “Vids on Vids” instructional series
More users than ever now have access to Google Vids, whether they’re a Business or Enterprise Starter customer, a Google AI Pro or Ultra subscriber, or a Workspace for Education customer. And now, the basic Vids editor, without Gemini, is available to all consumers at no cost, including new templates for things like tips and tricks, tutorials, event invites, or even a teaser for your latest podcast launch.
To help make Vids easier than ever to use, we’re introducing a new “Vids on Vids” instructional series that delivers best practices, while also showcasing all the great features Vids has to offer, like AI avatars and voiceovers, animations, stock media, and more. Our series covers a typical video workflow, so you’ll learn things like: how to use Vids recording studio, how to plan your video story using AI, and how to utilize animations and transitions to keep viewers engaged. We’ll continue to add new episodes as new features are released, so be sure to save the playlist. You’ll see how easy it is to create professional-looking engaging video, right in Google Workspace — no special skills required.

See how our customers are telling stories with Vids
Teams across organizations like Fullstory, Mercer International, Natura, and Trimble have already embraced Google Vids, with great results. Mercer International, a global manufacturing organization, is using Vids for critical employee safety training. “Google Vids has given us the ability to create safety content, developed and curated by our organization rather than having to go to market to hire very expensive resources to produce that for us,” shared Alistair Skey, CIO.
Customers are also using Vids to help scale and customize content for any audience. Forest Donovan, Senior Director of Strategic Alliances at Fullstory, a behavioral data platform organization, said, “The amount of [high gloss] content we can create in a matter of hours versus what would normally take weeks has been astounding.”
