SIGN UPWe know that demands at work and in your everyday life keep you busy. That’s why we continue to develop new features and innovations to help you stay connected with your team and on top of everything that comes your way. In March’s Workspace drop, we’re highlighting three new features:
New Google Meet features help you capture important discussion points, enabling seamless post-meeting follow-up and action
Updates to Google Vids “Help me create” feature, which now automatically generates AI voiceovers for each scene from the AI suggested scripts
Expanded language capabilities of Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Chat and Meet, plus inline language translation in Google Chat.
New Google Meet features help you capture important discussion points, enabling seamless post-meeting follow-up and action
Gemini’s “take notes for me,” in Google Meet, has seen strong adoption among our customers who appreciate its ability to save time and to help them focus on the discussion. Building on that, Gemini can now capture next steps discussed during the meeting in a new “Suggested next steps” section of your meeting notes. Action items and follow-ups will automatically be identified and organized within the meeting notes Doc that lands in your Gmail inbox. You can review and edit these as needed, or assign the task to someone else in your team. This latest note-taking enhancement helps ensure that important items aren’t missed and keeps things moving forward after the meeting.

We’re also working to make meeting notes even more useful and as detailed as needed. When enabled by you, we now include the full transcript along with the notes summary doc. The notes will link to the exact part of the transcript where items were discussed — including verbatim quotes — for more context. So many of our customers are seeing the value of “take notes for me” that they’ve moved away from third-party note-taking solutions. Don’t forget to turn it on in your meetings.
Real-time and translated captioning in Meet continues to help our customers bridge language barriers and help those with hearing impairment. But our users tell us they sometimes miss the caption or didn’t understand something, and they can’t go back because the captions previously disappeared. We’ve now solved that problem by enabling caption history and allowing you to scroll back and review the captions at your own pace.

Updates to Google Vids “Help me create” feature, which now automatically generates AI voiceovers for each scene from the AI suggested scripts
With Google Vids, it’s easy to get started creating video with generative AI. Gemini’s “Help me create” can generate a fully editable first draft of your video using a single prompt and content from your Google Drive. After choosing a style, Gemini pieces together your Vid with suggested scenes, including recommended stock media, text, scripts, and even background music.

This month, we also introduced a new feature within “Help me create” that automatically generates AI voiceovers that align to each scene in your Vid from your suggested scripts. With AI voiceovers, you no longer have to spend hours recording “the perfect take.” Instead, you can easily give your video a voice in Vids, with access to a variety of professional-sounding voiceovers to match the style you’re looking for. By automatically adding AI voiceovers, Vids helps you get to a first draft faster and makes it easier to land your message.
In-line language translation in Google Chat — in more than 120 languages
Google Chat is your home for collaboration in Workspace. Now with “Translate for me” in Chat, Gemini can help teams around the globe stay aligned and collaborate in their language of choice. “Translate for me” in Chat will automatically detect and translate over 120 languages, and with just a click, view the original message if needed. Rather than requiring you to navigate outside of Chat to translate a message, this feature keeps you focused on the conversation that’s unfolding with your colleagues, partners, and customers.

Expanded language capabilities of Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Chat and Meet
Workspace has expanded language support for several Gemini features in your Workspace apps. Gemini in the side panel in Gmail, Docs, Slides, Chat and Sheets now supports more languages. We’ve also increased the number of languages available in “Take notes for me” in Google Meet. Full details can be found here.
