SIGN UPAs the world’s workforce becomes increasingly mobile, businesses are turning to cloud technology to modernize their IT and improve how their employees work together. Yet, according to Gartner, 70 percent of employees have not mastered the skills they need for their jobs today (many of these skills require cloud competency).
We want to help people become more proficient in cloud-based productivity technology so that they can compete in the modern workplace. To help, we are introducing the G Suite certification.
About the G Suite Certification
The G Suite certification is an exam you can take to validate proficiency in G Suite productivity tools, such as Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms and Hangouts Meet. This two-hour exam is made up of multiple choice and performance-based questions that test your aptitude to work, communicate, and manage tasks using G Suite productivity and collaboration tools. You’ll demonstrate skills like how to manage files in Google Drive, create custom formatting in Docs, and how to merge or edit data within Sheets.
For those looking to stand out in the workplace, a certification can signify that you’re committed to improving digital skills and even set you up for success in a job search. It also can help HR managers quickly assess whether a candidate is qualified on a resume. You can choose to take the exam at one of our authorized testing centers or from the convenience of your home or office via remote proctoring.
Providing tools to help you succeed at work
As technology evolves rapidly, it can be tough for individuals to sharpen the skills they need to stay competitive in the workforce and incoming (and current) talent pools reflect this challenge. OpsRamp recently found that 94 percent of IT managers surveyed find it at least “somewhat difficult” to find candidates with the right cloud technology skills for their organizations.
At Google, we’re committed to delivering training that is affordable and accessible to all, including ways for individuals to increase digital literacy at their own pace—whether it’s learning more technical skills as a network engineer or developer or understanding the ins-and-outs of your work productivity apps.
