Google Workspace Results

  • 26,000 employees improve efficiency with an AI-based Secure Enterprise productivity & collaboration platform

As one of India's largest fully integrated logistics providers, Delhivery has leveraged a world-class network, high-quality operations, and latest technologies to successfully fulfill more than 2 billion orders across the country. With a presence in every state in the country, a team of 57,000 people and a vast infrastructure of automated sort centers, gateways, and delivery hubs, the company operates 24/7 to ensure every order reaches its destination.

To keep operations running smoothly,  Delhivery uses Google Workspace to streamline its workflows across its network. Since its inception in 2011, every employee at Delhivery receives a Google Workspace account when they are onboarded, even if they do not require an email address. This is because their Google Workspace account acts as an identity and access management tool to access systems across the organization.

Having been a Google Workspace user since the company's inception in 2011, Delhivery has grown alongside Google Workspace as new tools and applications were introduced over the years. From Gmail, Google Chat, Google Meet, and Calendar for scheduling and running day-to-day operations, the company has been progressively upgrading its Google Workspace use cases, with security and AI solutions being its latest additions.

As a fully integrated logistics service provider with 26,000 enterprise collaboration accounts and plans to grow its identity licences to 100,000, the scale of Delhivery's business and its 24/7 business model requires the highest level of security. This includes identity access management (IAM) for employees and enhanced security features like Context-Aware Access and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) rules to safeguard the vast amount of data within its systems.

Context-Aware Access allows employees to only access specific applications from company-issued devices, or be restricted from outside the corporate network. The organization can also choose to only allow access to Google Drive if their storage device is encrypted.

Creating a secure ecosystem with Google Workspace

“We needed a product that could help us manage password policies and apply various system-level controls across the organization. With Google Workspace Identity and secure LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), we can automatically verify user identities against the directory for authentication, which has been a gamechanger for the company.” - Akhtar Ali, Director IT, Delhivery

With security at the heart of its business, Delhivery needed a solution that could go beyond operational use cases. With Google Workspace, Delhivery was able to fulfil all of its IT security needs in one place. "We needed a product that could help us manage password policies and apply various system-level controls across the organization," says Akhtar Ali, director of IT at Delhivery. "With Google Workspace Identity and secure LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), we can automatically verify user identities against the directory for authentication, which has been a gamechanger for the company."

Delhivery also applied Context-Aware Access for more stringent control of devices and application access, which added an additional layer of security. As a logistics company, Delhivery has a lot of personally identifiable information (PII) data stored, and to protect their customers, they implemented a PII data policy, to ensure that if any of this data is attached to an email or drive, users would not be able to send it.

Having these tools integrated within Google Workspace has given Delhivery better visibility and control while reducing the layers of obstacles to achieving compliance. Furthermore, by consolidating security within its Workspace environment, the organization has saved on licensing costs as they do not have to go to a third-party identity provider. With Data Loss Prevention (DLP) rules integrated, the company can also prevent unauthorized sharing of sensitive data.

Improving speed and efficiency with Google Cloud AI

“The training sessions were very informative, and the intuitive  integration of Gemini within existing tools also made it easy for employees to pick up.” - Akhtar Ali, Director IT, Delhivery

Having taken steps to ensure  its security infrastructure is consolidated and robust, Delhivery turned to AI to improve speed and efficiency within the organization. Employees at Delhivery now use Gemini to streamline their daily workflows. "We started using Gemini for Google Workspace  in March 2025, and since then, Google has provided training sessions for our employees in various departments," Ali says. "As a result, our employees now use Gemini to quickly create and summarize content on emails, documents, and automate tasks using Gemini workflows." In just five months, 15,000 users across the organization started using Gemini as part of their daily workflow. This has improved efficiency across the organization.

"The training sessions were very informative, and the intuitive integration of Gemini within existing tools also made it easy for employees to pick up," Ali says. In particular, he highlights how meetings are automatically declined on Calendar if a user is busy, and Gemini provides alternate times. "You can schedule the call in one click with the timeslot suggestions, which has been very useful and time-saving."

Delhivery is already working on the next phase of its plans to use Gemini, in particular for automation across the organization, specifically for their Network Operations Center (NOC) team. "We receive a lot of alerts via email, and we want to use Gemini to automatically sort and process them, which is currently a manual task," Ali says. "Moving forward, we hope to automate these tasks through agents installed on the systems that will be able to send alerts directly to inboxes." By integrating Gemini with Delhivery's existing systems, Ali hopes to transform a time-consuming, manual process into an efficient, automated workflow.

A partnership built on collaboration and problem-solving

Moving forward, we hope to automate these tasks through agents installed on the systems that will be able to send alerts directly to inboxes.” - Akhtar Ali, Director IT, Delhivery

Having worked with the Google Workspace team over the past 14 years, Ali shares that the collaboration has always been a seamless and two-way process. "The team has been very helpful in solving our problems and supporting us with our needs, and they are always reachable," he says. "When we raise a ticket with them, they reply almost immediately and align with our team to solve the issue."

While the processes on the Google Workspace side of the business have been smooth, there are plans to further integrate Google Cloud products with the Delhivery tech stack. On that note, Ali explains that the organization is currently working to improve its data migration from other platforms to Google. "We will continue to work with Google to address issues like these that come up," Ali says. "I believe that with the continuous support of Google, we will be able to overcome them and scale our business for the long run."
