June Workspace feature drop: Create with Veo 3 in Google Vids and connect the Gemini app with your Google Workspace apps and more

Welcome to our June feature drop! This month’s Workspace Drop offers more AI features to make your work simpler, faster, and more impactful. 

Here’s what’s new:

• Slides and Vids: Create visually engaging presentations and videos in a fraction of the time with AI, now with Veo 3.

Slides and Vids: Create visually engaging presentations and videos in a fraction of the time with AI, now with Veo 3

Google Vids is your new go-to video creation assistant for breakthrough storytelling. Also, we've expanded access to more users, with Vids now available to Google Workspace Business Starter and Enterprise Starter customers.

Using Google's most capable video generation model, Veo 3, you can now generate high-quality video clips with realistic sound simply by typing a prompt. Need a shot of a worker wearing something specific to introduce a safety training, or a spokesperson appearing in a specific location? Just describe it, and Vids will create it for you.

We’re also introducing a faster way to apply changes to your AI voiceovers in vids. After making edits to your scripts, you’ll now be able to update AI voiceovers for every scene in your vid with one click. Existing AI voiceovers will be automatically replaced and scenes will automatically extend to match the voiceover length.

Crafting the perfect presentation or a compelling video can be time consuming. To help you create high-quality content, faster, we’re adding powerful new features into Google Slides and Google Vids — our new AI-powered video creation app for work.

To get you started, we’ve added a host of new, professionally designed templates to Slides. From project proposals and team meeting templates to creative portfolios, you can now find even more high-quality designs to make your presentations stand out.

Gemini app: Connect with the rest of Workspace for more personalized results      

Google Workspace apps can now connect with the Gemini app, so it can provide answers when you’re chatting with it at work based on your information in Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Keep, and Tasks. 

Ask Gemini to find a specific document in your Drive, summarize unread emails, or look up notes for an upcoming meeting — all in the Gemini app. Your Google Workspace data is not used to train the Gemini model, and you are always in control of your privacy settings.

We’re also bringing Live —a new feature in the Gemini app that allows for deeper, more natural, and intuitive two-way conversations —to Workspace business and enterprise customers. You can speak to Gemini and have it respond in real time, and even interrupt with questions or clarifications, making your questions and brainstorming sessions more dynamic and fluid.

And for those moments when you need to go deep on a topic, we're enhancing the file upload capability with Deep Research. Now, when you upload a Google Drive file, such as a long market research report or a dense financial document, Gemini will include a combination of public information and the details from your file in its research report, extracting key insights, summaries, and specific data points. Use Deep Research to conduct competitive assessments, find industry trends, and more — with insights from the data sources you provide from Drive.
