Welcome back to Beyond the prompt, our blog series focused on actionable tips to get the most out of Gemini for Google Workspace. Today, we’re showcasing how one Googler, Tony Majewski, uses generative AI to unlock new capabilities.

Give us a glimpse into your role here at Google.

I sit on the Google Workspace sales team as the Americas growth and solutions lead, and I love that I get to work with many different Googlers from all over — across sales, product, and marketing — and with customers and prospects. I spend a lot of my time helping people understand how they can get the most out of Workspace and generative AI.

How has using Gemini transformed the way you work?

The bottom line is that I experience less burnout since using Gemini. It’s helped me create a predictable schedule for myself. I can actually finish everything I need to do in 40 hours, and that has created true work-life balance for me.

Every week is different, but generally I have somewhere around 15-20 customer meetings, 10 internal meetings, plus a few events. Since I have so many meetings, there’s a ton of preparation — from research and slide decks to talking points and demos. All that work used to fall after hours for me because I didn’t have an uninterrupted 2-3 hours to build things out. Now, maybe I only have 15 minutes between meetings, but I can use those pockets of time to get meaningful prep work done.

Can you give an example?

Sure. On average, I conduct one Executive Briefing Center (EBC) meeting each week. These are really high-stakes meetings with customer executives. I only get one chance to show up and do the best job possible. So to do my best, I have to understand the customer inside and out. It takes days to do this right and to build great artifacts to support these engagements.

Now, I get my customer research done in an hour or less using Gemini at gemini.google.com. I then export my findings to Google Docs, and using the Gemini side panel, I pull in persona-based research that I have stored in my Drive, and customize the research into compelling talking points. I can pull in other documents that I already have built, such as documents addressing common security questions, and I can build out a customized presentation for each customer. Using Gemini, I can get to a true 50-60% completion rate in 30 minutes to an hour. I save anywhere from 8-10 hours every week using generative AI.

How is Gemini helping our customers build stronger sales teams?

There are essentially two ways to do sales. You can be a “boilerplate everywhere” type of seller or you can be the type of sales organization that really prioritizes the customer experience and makes every customer feel like they’re the only one.

You want your sales organizations to be able to say, “I know I have a book of business with over 1,000 customers, but I want to make each one feel like they’re my only.” With generative AI, that is possible. Personalization is key, and with Gemini you can nearly instantaneously personalize everything — your emails, your pitches, your objection handling, everything.

What is your favorite prompt?

I prompt all day long, but I think my favorite might be for research. I go to gemini.google.com and prompt something like:

I need to understand more about [company name] so that I can prepare for [type of meeting]. Help me build a business profile. Include basics like where they’re located, what industry they’re in, and what recent news has been released.

From there, I build on the conversation by asking different questions about the industry and region they’re in, and I probe around specifics I should know about a company’s history, and then I do the same for individual executives or contacts.

These types of prompts literally save me hours.
