Enabling Change
Solutions: Work transformation
"Google has an amazing ecosystem within Google Workspace that's been invaluable for TrueCar. With all of the available resources, we've been able to more securely improve how we work." - Justin Slaten, Senior Vice President IT and Security, TrueCar
With its open ecosystem, Google Workspace has encouraged greater real-time collaboration among TrueCar staffers. Because many employees are already familiar with Google Workspace tools such as Docs and Gmail, TrueCar needed minimal onboarding time for routine platform training. Employee response to Google Workspace has been strong, as team members now frequently use collaborative editing for daily work, saving time and avoiding previous problems such as having to manage duplicate files.
TrueCar accounting and finance staff have also adopted Sheets over its legacy solution, as they can collaboratively build spreadsheets and cell formulas without losing any functionality.
"TrueCar is a very fast-paced, ever-changing environment, and we like to be on the cutting edge of technology," says Justin Slaten, Senior Vice President of IT and Security at TrueCar. "We've been doing a lot of work to upgrade and streamline the platforms we use in order to set us up for infinite and immediate scalability. We also choose platforms that enable us to constantly innovate. Google Workspace checks all of those boxes, and we look forward to continuously evolving the way our company collaborates within the Google Workspace ecosystem."
Enhanced Google Workspace security features provide added value for TrueCar. From identity protection with multifactor authentication to malware detection, Google Workspace helps secure TrueCar employee data and allows the company to avoid having to spend money to build its own physical IT infrastructure. These early successes have spurred TrueCar to explore further Google integrations such as Chrome OS hardware to facilitate additional Google Workspace and remote work opportunities.
Google Cloud Premier Partner SADA helped guide the Google Workspace transition process for TrueCar, deploying within six weeks. Along with general deployment strategy and coordination, SADA emphasized change management and training among TrueCar employees. This education encouraged the emergence of a Google Workspace power user culture that had proficient employees helping out newer coworkers with troubleshooting, reducing the workload for the help desk team, and increasing the Google Workspace migration's impact.
"SADA was a great fit for us because of their focus on not just deploying Google Workspace but also driving user adoption through their change management services, making the transition seamless for our user base," adds Justin.
