Seamless electronic signatures
Open the eSignature sidebar
From Google Docs: Go to Tools > eSignature.
From Google Drive (Beta): Open your PDF contract in Drive > Top-right menu (three vertical dots) > eSignature.
Enter eSignature details
From the eSignature sidebar, you can manage signers and drag and drop fields into your document. Then, click "Request eSignature" to notify signers.
Sign documents
Open the email titled "eSignature request for [document name]". Click "Sign" and fill in the details.

eSignatures are legally binding in many countries or regions for many types of documents. This includes the US and EU. For example, the US federal government established the validity of e-signature through the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act or ESIGN in 2000. This act grants eSignatures the same legal status as handwritten signatures in most contexts.
